Breakaway Theatre Company returned to The Inn On The Park for their fifth annual outdoor Summer Shakespeare production, on 28th-30th June and 5th-7th July 2018, enjoying beautiful weather and delicious food in the picturesque setting of Verulamium Park in St Albans.

The beautiful and gentle Bianca has no shortage of admirers (Lucentia, Gremia and Hortensia) but her father insists that she will not marry until her shrewish sister, Katherina (Kate), is betrothed. Bianca's suitors persuade fortune-seeker Petruchio to court her. The suitors pay for any costs involved and there is also the goal of Katherina's dowry. Petruchio marries Katharina and carries her off to his country house with his servant Grumia. Petruchio intends to browbeat Katharina into submission and denies her food, sleep and her new clothes, whilst continuously singing her praises. Kate is tamed… or is she? This is a story of love, disguised identity and passion.
